Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business revenue growth, managing and
strengthening relationships with key clients within our insurance and assistance portfolio. Acting as the primary point
of contact, this role ensures that each partnership delivers mutual value through proactive relationship management,
structured performance reviews, effective onboarding, and responsive handling of day-to-day client needs. This
person will take a key account management approach to understanding client objectives, ensuring operational
excellence, and identifying opportunities to enhance service performance and partnership growth.

Location: Dublin office / Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Own and deliver new business revenue growth through proactive pipeline development, commercial negotiation, and partner acquisition.
- Serve as the primary contact for a portfolio of clients (insurers, MGAs, and brokers).
- Develop a deep understanding of each client’s business model, goals, and service expectations.
- Conduct structured client performance reviews (monthly, quarterly, bi-annually, or annually based on client size).
- Maintain a proactive communication cycle to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Act as an escalation point for the business on client concerns, complaints, and queries, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
New Business & Revenue Growth
- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across insurers, MGAs, brokers, and strategic partners in line with the company’s growth strategy.
- Own the end-to-end new business lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification through proposal
development, commercial negotiation, and contract close. - Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, providing clear forecasting and visibility of opportunities, risks,
and expected revenue outcomes. - Lead or support RFPs, tenders, and new partner pitches, coordinating cross-functional inputs to deliver
compelling and commercially sustainable propositions.
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor service delivery and performance against contractual KPIs and SLAs.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams (operations, claims, IT, finance, etc.) to address service or operational issues.
- Work with the data team to present detailed performance reports and insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
Onboarding & Implementation
- Lead the onboarding process for new clients, coordinating internally to ensure a seamless implementation.
- Support the development of onboarding plans, including the coordination of training and key function set-ups, and documentation to ensure clear expectations and deliverables.
People Management
- Provide strong commercial leadership to direct reports, driving performance against revenue, customer experience and strong relationship management.
- Foster a high‑performance culture through clear objectives, outcome‑focused coaching, and continuous development, balancing pace, quality, and engagement.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in sales leadership or senior business development roles within insurance Proven track record of delivering new business revenue and managing commercially complex partner relationships.
- APA qualification (Associate of the Insurance Institute of Ireland) is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of insurance-based distribution models, regulatory considerations, and commercial contracting.
